about the project

Ammolite was a small project of mine for an upcoming build team. Unfortunately, the team never came to fruition and with it, the website was never fully created. This website took some creative design skills as well as utilizing SVG backgrounds to create a subtle yet intruiging design. Though this project is abandoned, I have full intentions of coming back to it and fully developing it on day.

back

about the project

Gavin's splash page is heavily inspired by Calvin's splash page. The challenge was to create a simple, yet feature rich splash page with particle effects, changing text, and an extensive contact section. The project was built using React, allowing for a powerful JS front-end to control the changing text. The project was very fun to do!

about the project

Calvin approached me one day with a mockup, asking if I can recreate his current personal splash page. After a few days of work, what came about was a dynamic and exciting splash page featuring particle effects, text transitions, background music, and changing fonts! Calvin was very pleased when recieving the final product and has made sure to tell me any compliments he recieves on the site! The splash page was developed using HTML, CSS, and JS. The biggest challenge of this website was creating the script to load in the background music, after a few days of work, I'm proud to say this is my personal favorite project!

about the project

TeamObsequent, a talent management firmed focused on YouTube, came to me with one goal in mind - simple. I wanted to create a layout that was both dead simple but also different. After the mockup was shown to the clients, they were astonished! The sideways headers, simple text, and amazing icons were enough to make the design easy-to-read but also different from other talent management websites. This project was developed using HTML, CSS, and JS.

about me

Hey, I'm Shaun (colloquially known as Athys), and I am a full-stack JavaScript web developer! My specialities include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Meteor.js, and React. I love to learn about how languages work in the background, especially JavaScript and CSS. Usually in my free time I'll either be taking an online course to improve my skills or fiddling around with small, fun projects. I am also the owner of Syncore, an up and coming web design/development firm.

Currently, I'm studying biochemistry and neurobiology (a duo known as 'nerdimus maximus') at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. I plan on attending medical school in the future. Now I know what you are thinking and yes, I am a pre-med student dabbling in comp sci. Why? BECAUSE IT'S FUN AND I DON'T NEED NO DEGREE TO DO IT. Harsh words aside, I've always had a fascination since day 1 (more like day 856 when I actually could recognize that this glowing rectangle in front of me was a computer screen) about computers. Since then, I like to learn about how computers work as well as learning to code as a fun hobby. Why web developement specifically? I like the way web development combines both creativity and development into the workflow!
Brush

creative

I don't use frameworks, instead, I opt for custom CSS. This gives my sites a more creative look.

Board

scalable

I use BEM and 7-1 SASS architectures to make production-grade sites with growth in mind.

Dev

savvy

I don't learn the "what" of coding, but also the "how". This helps me explain certain concepts to my clients as well as help my workflow move faster.

process

The process I work with is easy! I've specifically designed it to be as efficient and quick as possible for both me and you!

1

contact.

We get in touch and have a nice conversation about your project and vision. This is probably the hardest part of the whole "process" as I ask you questions about how I could best bring your vision to life. Be prepared to answer questions such as "describe your website from top to bottom"!

2

design.

I begin to design a mockup of your website! This is the part where I create the gameplan for your website, putting down both of our ideas onto.. well.. digital paper.

3

revision.

I present the mockup of the website back you to revisions and changes. This is still in the pre-development phase and is essentially a checkpoint to make sure everything looks good before moving on to development.

4

hard-code.

We've now reached phase 4! This is the part where I begin to code your website using HTML, CSS, JS, etc. to bring it to life! I will be providing constant updates as well as the site files once the project is completed. Have questions about pay or warranty? You can find out more information by reading my TOS.
